Massimina Pesce was born in the South of Italy in 1941. She studied arts at the Public Institute of Fine Arts in Rome. Her work has been shown in Italy, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Taiwan, Hungary, Russia and in the USA. Her powerful ceramic sculptures and low-reliefs and her very delicate mixed-media paintings although figurative leave a lot of room to the spectator’s imagination. What, for example, at first sight might look as an insect or a bird could very well be a perfectly preserved fossil, a plant bent by the wind or even an aquatic being carried by the stream. Really an astonishing timeless oniric world, remembering the beauty of desert wilderness.
